About Us

Welcome to Simple Origami World!

Hi, I’m Ayumu from Japan. I am a Japanese citizen living in Japan who is passionate about sharing the traditional culture of Origami with the world. I am not a professional artist, but a neighbor who wants to show you how fun and simple Japanese culture can be.

Why I started this blog

Origami is more than just folding paper; it is a beautiful piece of Japanese heritage that brings focus, patience, and joy. I noticed that many people overseas find Origami difficult or intimidating. That is why I created this site—to bridge the gap between “complex traditional art” and “everyday fun.”

What you will find here

I focus on creating tutorials specifically for beginners and children ages 5 to 12.

  • Step-by-Step Clarity with Real Photos: I use my own original photos and videos for every single step. Since I fold everything myself, I can show you exactly how to handle the paper.
  • Kid-Friendly Designs: I select models that can be completed in just a few minutes, keeping it fun for children.
  • Cultural Context: I share small tips and “Fun Facts” about Japanese life to make your crafting experience more meaningful.

My goal is to help you discover the charm of this “small art” and make your first step into the world of Origami a successful and happy one.

Let’s start folding together!
